Da beach is dat way...

Man, oh man, oh man, it's H-O-T!!!!

This weekend it's been around 35 degrees (that's 95 for you Americans) and that's pretty hot for May. Yesterday I spent about an hour reading a new novel in the sun....
Consequently, I have acquired my first sun burn of the season...yay! I'm itchy and pink (the only time I don't like pink is when it's on my skin). I also have a little white "B" in the middle of my chest from my necklace...I think it's hot. So I'm off to the beach for the rest of the day...don't worry, I'll be finding myself a little patch of shade.

I'm probably breaking some girly-girl secret code, but...

Me and the fam (ma and pa) celebrated Victoria Day by strapping a canoe to the top of our truck, driving 45 minutes to Isobel Lake and paddling for about an hour while enjoying the great Canadian outdoors and all it has to offer...yadda yadda yadda...

On the way there, I was having some know, down! Not "there", perv...down theeeere. My stomach wasn't happy about something I had injested that day, but I kept it under control until we reached our destination.

Okay. Here's where I break the code..not that I haven't already done that on this blog o' mine, but whatever, I'll continue...

So my mom gets out of the truck and I follow after her. Just as I'm releasing the nastiness (it was really, really bad), my mom proceeds to take one of those "ahhh-fresh-clean-air-deep-breaths" right, you guessed it, downwind from me.

She makes a funny face and then looks at me, "Did you just fart?"...we started laughing uncontrollably.

My dad had the pleasure of sitting down wind from me in the canoe.

He he he...see?! I haven't been blogging regularly because this is the only material I have to go by!

I still like pink and wearing skirts...for serious!

I'm getting a little wiser as the days go by...

Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.

My wisdom tooth is moving again. It does this every now and then...just to torture me, methinks. It pretends like it's going to make an appearance, breaking through my skin just a little and then it retreats back into its little gummy cave for another six months.

Make up your mind buddy! You're either in or you're out! Don't make me call the dentist to get you removed...that's not a warning, it's a threat!

Anyways, I'm always tired on Mondays. Yes, I know it's "technically" Tuesday, but yesterday was a holiday for us Canadians, so today is "mentally" my Monday. Yeah, whatever, it makes sense to me.

Last night I got to catch up with some girlfriends from high school. It's funny, we haven't all hung out for years, but it was like nothing had changed, well, besides one of my friends being eight months pregnant and another one engaged to be married. It was nice catching up with everyone...eating, gossiping, talking about boys (with an episode of Newlyweds in there too) I said, nothing has really changed. If I didn't have a ghetto computer, I would post some pictures from the night.

Well, I better go get myself a teething ring before my lunch break is over...

Holy Sith!

Just got back from watching Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith.
Yes, I'm what you might call a "fan", but don't worry, you won't be catching me in any Princess Leia inspired outfits anytime soon...sorry boys. I went with my Dad, who is what you might call an "orginal" fan. I grew up watching the the last three series formerly known as the Trilogy. The movie itself was pretty good with its fair share of original Star Wars "cheese" and another very awe inspiring Yoda fight. The only disappointing factor is the predictability of the whole film...kind of like a Catholic watching the Passion of the Christ (one movie I don't think I will ever watch), although I think that's a film that many people already know the ending of. Anyways, I think I might watch episodes 4, 5 & 6 (just to get the full effect) is the long weekend you know :)

Let's Party!

"Still Alive" and "What? No Sex Party?!"

Mmmmmwah! Mmmwah! Mmmwaaaaaah!

Sorry for the long delay, although, it really hasn't been *that* long, but VG was jonesin' for me to return, so I thought I'd tell you that I'm alive, a little more muscular, somewhat more toned and very ready to get the heck out of Canada.

It's less than t-2 months 'till Greece and I CAN. NOT. WAIT!!!

I got my tanning pass last week and I'm looking forward to leaving behind my pasty white exterior. Yes, I know "skin cancer blah, bah, blah....premature aging blah, blah, blah" me, I. KNOW! I just need to get a base tan before I shake my naked tush on the nude beaches. Yes, the bikini is coming off! And sorry, there will be no "proof pictures" posted on here. This is a PG13 blog...and I intend on keeping it that way, or until my mom becomes senile and can't remember the address (God forbid!).

Anyways, I really don't have that much to talk about beside the fact that I voted today after work for the provincial election and I was disappointed to see no "Sex Party" option on the ballot (courtesy of Jenn). Maybe bext time?

This was actually the first time I've ever voted. Yeah I know "I should be grateful for my vote blah, blah, blah...I should exercise my democratic right blah, blah, blah" I. KNOW! I'm just really lazy, but I had a good excuse for the federal election last year. I had Mono. And no one wants to vote when they have Mono people. Even though I was subjected to many hours of mind numbing debates and election commercials....and probably knew more about "the issues" and the different "political platforms" than anyone else.

Okay, so that's all I've got.
I'm alive.
I voted.

And "You got the Love" could be heard playing in the background...

When I was five I would rip off my band-aids....

One swift movement and it was gone.

It would hurt. I might have even let out a little cry. But about 30 seconds later the pain would be gone. Perhaps a little residue of band-aid glue would be left behind...maybe even a little red mark, but the point is, the PAIN would be GONE.

I tend to do this in life.

Especially, in relationships...with men in particular. When they end...I make it fast. The hurt is more intense, but it doesn't linger. I usually allow myself to mourn for one day...maybe two.

I don't do this to be cruel or mean...I do this to protect myself. I've gotten VERY good at it...perhaps TOO good. But the glue residue has built up and the red marks have multiplied...and sometimes I wonder if it's all worth it...

And then I watched the last episode of Sex and the City last night and I realised just how worthwhile it all is. When Carrie said , "I'm looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can't-live-without-each-other love", it made me realise that it definitely is worth it...even all the tears and pain because in the end true love is what I want and what I deserve.

I'm not sure how many band-aids I will have to rip off in the future, but I'm confident that one day one just won't come off...I won't even have to try.

Slap me silly!

I've been window shopping for wedding dresses.

Well, not really window shopping, but every time I pass this certain bridal store, I pause to take a look at the new dress in the window display...and I swear, every dress they put out is "The Dress". What is wrong with me? I mean, I'm over looking one very important detail. I DON'T WANT TO GET MARRIED (at least not right now)...and I need a groom (but don't get lost in the details people).

Well, I guess it could be worse; I could be looking at babies and wishing I had one of my own...*shudder* but, don't worry, THAT'S not happening any time soon.

Sorry Mom.

I guess I'm it!

So I just noticed that Miss Stacie tagged me to do here it goes...I'm going to keep my answers very short and write the first thing that comes to my mind.

If a could be a musician...I would totally be a diva (J-Lo style).
If I could be a chef... I would get my own show on the Food Network.
If I could be a lawyer... I would hire a cute 20 something guy and make him do all the crazy crap I had to do when I worked in a law firm.
If I could be a farmer... I would find me a nice cowboy... yee-haw!
If I could be a librarian... I would be a b*tch and go around saying "shhh!" all of the time. Oh, but I would allow people to eat and drink in the library because spending a day in the library trying to cram for an exam is not cool when you have to leave every 2 hours to eat.

I'm supposed to pass this on, but I don't feel like following the rules today. So if you want to do this, just take five of the "If I could be..." options and finish the can pass it on to 3 people if you wish.

If I could be a scientist…
If I could be a farmer…
If I could be a musician…
If I could be a doctor…
If I could be a painter…
If I could be a gardener…
If I could be a missionary…
If I could be a chef…
If I could be an architect…
If I could be a linguist…
If I could be a psychologist…
If I could be a librarian…
If I could be an athlete…
If I could be a lawyer…
If I could be an inn-keeper…
If I could be a professor…
If I could be a writer…
If I could be a llama-rider…
If I could be a bonnie pirate…
If I could be an astronaut…
If I could be a world famous blogger…
If I could be a justice on any one court in the world…
If I could be married to any current famous political figure…

To go nude, or not to go nude?

I'm going to be in Mykonos, a Greek island notorious for its parties and nude beaches, in two months and I'm just a "modest" Canadian in Europe, should I do as the Europeans do? I'm not going to lie, the thought of it really creeps me out...I have no problem with showing some skin, but showing ALL OF MY SKIN? Ack! Non! I don't know if I can do it..but I so don't want to be the only chick in a bikini...that might be even MORE embarassing. Damn my conservative Western upbringing!

Any thoughts?
Any experiences?
Any advice?

You know it's 2005 when...

You leave an excrutiatingly awkward phone message for someone and freak out when you realize that you're talking to an answering machine and NOT a voice mail box.

Yes, I did this the other day.

It was awful!

Thinking about it even now makes me cringe and blush.

When I finished my stupid message and pressed the # key for "more options" (read: to delete the sucker and pretend like it never existed), I was met with dead air. I hung up the phone once I realized my fateful error... completely mortified.

Let me explain something here...for years, and I mean years, I've never left a voice mail message for someone that has not been erased and re-recorded like 10 times. No joke.
I've become accustomed to being able to leave a dorky message and delete it and re-record as much as I want. So this?! This "answering machine"... completely caught me off gaurd. Who the heck has one of those things in 2005? 2005 people!

Needless to say this person did not call me back.

And I don't expect they ever will.

It was THAT bad.

Now, I'm going to go find a big rock I can hide under.

Um, yeah, I haven't been posting much lately simply because

It's really THAT simple.

I'll try to do something blog worthy soon.

Look at me!

Okay, so I just wanted to say that I think Rachel from Web Divas did a great job with my new's so pink and girly (sorry boys). And I also wanted to say that as soon as I'm finished this report (1/3 of the way there!) I will respond to everyone's emails (like, all three of yours). I'm not ignoring you, just giving myself some tough love while I try to get this finished and sent out by Wednesday.
And FYI...comments may be returning soon...once a junkie, always a junkie, baby!

Can I get a...

Can I get an R?
Can I get an O-C-R-A-S-T-I-N-A-T-I-O-N?!!!!!!

Yes, I'm totally procrastinating on writing my work term report...I hate writing this kind of know, what did I do? What did I learn? What feedback can I give to my employer? Yadda Yadda Yadda...right...

Here's what I'd like to say:

This job almost sucked the freakin' life out of me.

The End.

So I've been doing a lot to avoid my WTR...mainly reading Jess's blog...and from her blog I found this quiz, which has freaked the living bejesus out me. 75% Satanism? Who knew?
